- The BIOS only supports transfer rates of up to 9600 bps
- (19200 using the 14h/04h BIOS function available on PS/2
- machines), so most high-speed MS-DOS datacomm programs (have
- to) hit the hardware directly. (Not to mention that you're
- basically limited to a total of four ports.) In other words:
- the "driver" is part of your application software, and - one
- way or the other - _does_ contribute to what you have to pay
- for the latter.

- Oh really? Where can I get a free MS-DOS, a free MS-Windows,
- a free DR-DOS, a free OS/2, a free SVR4, a free Amiga OS
- 2.0, etc.? Just because something is an intrinsic part of a
- package doesn't mean it's free (unless we're using different
- definitions for the word "free" here).

- P.S.: To the best of my knowledge, GVP haven't even
- announced the price of the I/O Extender card yet.
