- I've got an Amiga 2000 wb2.05 (ks 37.175,wb 37.71), VXL-030 40mhz,
- HardFrame 1.9 with 2 Seagate hardrive, 8up with 6mb
- and an Archive Viper 150 (21247-603)
-
- This is my Tape information :
-
- Drive type Sequential
- I/O mode Asynchronous
- Block Type Fixed
- Auto Tape size Yes
- Bu buffer (x2) 32k (would it make a different if I
- RS buffer 32k increase the buffers ?)
- Auto retension off
- Tape Append on
- Device HardFrame.device
- SCSI ID 5 (It's external and terminated)
- Block Size 512
- Tape Size not given
- MaxTransfer 128 (Blocks)
-
- When I want to backup to the Viper, it starts to read the directory of
- the harddisk and start to write the information to the tape (tape
- movement)(I guess it just wrote the index to the tape), then it rewinds
- the tape (rewind message) and then stops with this message :
- "Error writing to backup tape. SCSI: Medium Error".
- If I test it with another program it says "Tape Error #3 (Medium Error)"
-
- I'm sure the streamer is fine, but could it be just an Tape problem ?
- Even if I erase the tape before hand, and rewind it, it gives the same
- error. Any clue ?
