- Most every service has direct connect lines, but are the ones for Portal
- 9600bps with no extra charges? If so, then this is certainly an advantage
- that BIX used to have until late last year. At least they priced it
- reasonably so that using the 9600 indial is not prohibitive and the speed
- difference offsets the price over a Telenet 2400bps indial.

- If all you're concerned about is Amiga support, than I'd have to agree that
- CIS is not the best alternative. If you have other interests CIS might be the
- better choice over GEnie, if only for a much better messaging system. CIS also
- offers a lot of professional services, albeit at extra cost as well, but if
- you need them it's there.

- I can't comment on Portal's other services since I've not been on there in
- over 5 years.
