  22. Greg Cunningham, the programmer of BaudBandit.

  26. As a tester I've been using vairants of Bandit 2 for so long I can't even
  27. remember what Bandit 1.5 looks like... but from my aging memory...

  29. -Kermit protocol added
  30. -new button gadgetry across the drag bar
  31. -right mouse button pull down menus
  32. -sortable phone book which is now unlimited length
  33. -can be iconified into a tiny WorkBench drag bar button
  34. -more configuration options 
  35. -new config fast window menu thing
  36. -more macro keys
  37. -better IBM ANSI emulation
  38. -second font for IBM ANSI can be specified in config screen
  39. -can be set to automatically pop open DiskMaster II upon demand
  40. -can create icons for downloaded files with your choice of icons
  41. -creates a log file of all Bandit 2 activities, saves to disk as it goes
  42. -can be config'd to auto-decompress downloads
  43. and probably a bunch of other stuff I either don't use or can't remember :)

  51. To tell you the truth I'm not even sure if it's enough of an upgrade to be
  52. "needed".  Harv got most of it, but lemme see if I can't add some more.

  54. - A whole new 2.0 style interface
  55. - User configurable menus
  56. - 36 more function keys
  57. - New transfer status with CPS, bytes to go, time left, and more
  58. - Configuration saving with project icons for multiple configurations
  59. - ANSI color remapping
  60. - IBM mode for allowing two sets of config options like fonts, color map,
  61.   color palette, screen mode, and more.
  62. - A different palette for each screen mode
  63. - Only ZModem was rewritten in assembler, it's the only protocol I use :)
  64. - Printer output can be sent to the speech device.
  65. - Configurations now save all window positions, widths, and heights including
  66.   the iconify button, printer and capture on/off status.
  67. - Obnoxious "star trek" sounds when you click on gadgets :)
  68. - Text reader for reading or sending parts of text files
  69. - XON/XOFF "lockups" can abort after a specified time
  70. - Destructive backspace switch for unix... or something

  74. - All of the buttons that couldn't be accessed from ARexx can be now.
  75. - Cursor:  to get/set the cursor position
  76. - Log: Turns on/off then log, or sends a string to the log file.
  77. - Menu: reset or add a menu item.  Works somewhat like DiskMaster
  78. - Wait was changed alot.  It now returns mixed case instead of the uppercase
  79.   only, and ?'s are replaced with the incoming characters.

  82. I guess it really just depends on what you use it for and if any of these
  83. changes are going to benifit you.  I assume there will be some ARexx programs
  84. soon that may be incompatible with the older versions.
