  32. Well, this is normally a question which should be answered by the 
  33. FAQ in the comp.sys.dcomm.modems (or something like that :), but it isn`t
  34. much you ask so:

  36. V.32 and V.32bis are two of several CCITT communication protocols, in 
  37. our case especially for modems.
  38.  
  39. Now V.32 is a 9600 baud protocoll (don`t flame me if i got bits/sec and
  40. baud not correctly :), whereas V.32bis is a 14400 baud protocoll
  41. (to be exactly, V.32 includes 4 bits per signal and V.32bis 6 bits, and
  42. the signals are transmittied with 2400 baud, so you get 4*2400=9600 with
  43. V.32 and 6*2400=14400 with V.32bis).

  45. So your transfer rates and all are quite normal.
