- OctaMED's musical (staff) notation √ is not as good as DMCS. It doesn't have
- as many features as DMCS. Although using OctaMED for writing directly into MED
- format works well, transcribing sheet music into OctaMED is a bear even with
- it's staff notation. I was using Sonix to do that, then using "SMUS2MOD" to
- convert it to OctaMED. Now I'm learning to use DMCS, and see it's much better
- than Sonix and it'll save in SMUS format so I can convert to mod so I can
- convert that to MED with OctaMED. hehe
-
- As far as some specs on OctaMED's staff notation: The shortest note/rest is
- 1/16. The only time sigs are 4/4 and 3/4. You get all key sigs. You can't
- change time or key in the middle of a song. For comparison, it has the
- features of Sonix, but works like DMCS.
