- You didn't say whether you use a hard disk, but if so, then I recommend
- 'Qfind', which I got from a magazine coverdisk. If it's not around for ftp,
- I'll be happy to upload it to wuarchive. I haven't used 'Find', which I notice
- several people singing the praises of, but the reason I like Qfind is because
- it's FAST!
- You run a sub-program called UpdateDB, which reads and stores every file and
- directory name on every partition of your HD in a small file. This takes a
- couple of minutes, but you only have to do it after changing files on your HD,
- say at the end of a session, or once or twice a week if you're as lazy as me.
- When you type in "Qfind STRING" (CLI only), it will do a case-insensitive
- substring search through this file and respond with all found files or
- directories within a second or two on a stock 7MHz 68000 system.
