-
- The output format of TeX (virtex command) is the DVI format.
- (DVI: device independant)
-
- You need a driver to preview or print a DVI file.
-
- PasTeX comes with two drivers:
- ShowDVI to preview the text on the monitor and
- DVIprint to print the text on a printer (or in an IFF file).
-
- DVIprint prints normaly directly to the printer. It can print on
- a DeskJet (LaserJet) and on many dot printers.
- DVIprint also has the possibility to use the standard WB drivers.
- This is much slower, but it should work with all printers.
-
- There exists some more DVI printer drivers. E.g.:
- dvips : convert a dvi file into a postscript file.
- dvilj : a faster LaserJet driver than DVIprint (uses font downloading).
