- Hello....
-
- I have had the same problem, but it`s not an error of Reorg but of your
- controller or controller software to be exactly (so it was in my case):
-
- My software and my harddisk claimed that it had 1 head and 468 sectors/track
- and 468 sectors/cylinder.
- Now reorg needs about 3k for every sector/track, that is about 1.5mb. Additio-
- nally it takes some memory for the size of the partition, etc.
-
- I ran it with 2.5 mb free memory and was then able to reorg my smallest
- partition (my boot) with 22mb.
-
- So check out how many memory you have free when you try to reorg. Perhaps
- break your startup-sequence just at the beginning, remove some of your hd-
- buffers (reorg uses it`s own :) and if it isn`t working then try to
- write other harddisk-parameters to your RDB (i think you use an SCSI
- harddisk :)
-
- But be aware!!! Rewriting these parameters destroy your partitions!!! So
- backup your hd bevor you do it!!
-
- For exact explanation email me, and we could check it out.
