  13. I'm looking for a PD or cheap text processor for my fianc\'ee.  She
  14. writes stories and would like a package or editor with the following
  15. basic features:
  16.  
  17. 1. Automatic word wrap / fill.  (The basic emacs fill isn't sufficient
  18. though.  See below.) 
  19. 2. Multiple line spacing on screen and in print.
  20. 3. Basic printer support for proof-reading.
  21. 4. Underlining on screen.  Bold and italics are nice extras.
  22. 5. Mouse support for marking, blocking, cut, copy and paste.
  23. 6. Basic search and replace.
  24. 7. Multitasks properly and uses ARexx (what else for an Amiga?).
  25. 8. Some documentation on the output format so that I can automatically
  26. translate files to [La]TeX.

  28. At the moment, I use emacs 18.58 (Amiga port 1.24), but it doesn't
  29. automatically fill / wrap a line if the cursor is not on the rightmost
  30. column, or if characters in a paragraph are deleted.  I've mapped a
  31. function key to perform a fill-paragraph operation, but my fianc\'ee
  32. doesn't like using this option too often.  Also, emacs doesn't display
  33. multiple spacing, and mouse and Amiga ANSI console support is minimal.
  34. I scanned Joe Wells' comp.emacs FAQ, but couldn't find what I wanted.
  35. Suggestions such as programs and even ELISP scripts are welcome.

  37. Our system is an A3000 with KS2.04.  We currently use PasTeX 1.3 for
  38. preparing the final output.
