  12. This is mainly in reply to e-mail from steve@klaatu.demon.co.uk, but I shall
  13. post here because (a) it has some general relevance, and (b) I can't seem
  14. to reply to his e-mail address (mainly due to our system).

  16. First, there is a mistake in the Staka (available from Newcastle) help file
  17. which should tell you to use CTRL-ESCAPE to quit, not SHIFT-ESCAPE.

  20. Now to Word Hound. To clarify the situation, when I release version 1.10 of
  21. Word Hound there will only be a replacement archive file, the main data
  22. files (shipped as WordHound2 to WordHound5) will remain unchanged. All that
  23. will happen is that WordHound1 will be replaced with a new version. This
  24. means that you can go ahead and get the whole package, and only have to get
  25. one part again if you want to upgrade when version 1.10 comes out.

  28. Work on version 1.10 is going well at the moment and so (if all goes well)
  29. version 1.10 may be out soon. I have already managed to hotlink to
  30. Impression, although there is a slight problem with it. When you select a
  31. word in Impression it sends an Impulse message telling the world what this
  32. word is, but it does not add the space that might also be highlighted after
  33. the word. Thus I can not assertain whether or not to add a space after a
  34. selected word has been passed on. So at the moment I assume that I do. But
  35. I assume there must be a complementary Impulse message that I can send to
  36. tell Impulse what to change the word selected to, but I know no way of
  37. finding out what this message might be. Ho Hum!

  40. I shall now have to wait about 15minutes while our dying news server
  41. accepts this posting. (I'm currently about 3 days behind on News at the
  42. moment due to the problems - it's very annoying :-( ).
