- I had a play with an Acorn A4 last week. Very nice machine. It seems faster
- than an A5000, this must be due to the lower screen bandwidth of the LCD. The
- LCD refresh rate is not great but with RISC OS's instant redraw it ok.
-
- I tryed the replacement Next 3d icons that were posted to comp.binary.acorn
- and they did not work with RISC OS 3.10. They worked ok on RISC OS 3.00 but not
- on the A4. Playing with the A4 I descovered the command *toolsprites <sprites>
- And I tryed this on the Next icons and they worked. So my question to the
- people in the know at Acorn ( Owen, David, etc) is what are the changes between
- RISC OS 3.00 and RISC OS 3.10 apart from bug fixes.
-
- I also had a play with RISC OS 3.07 (development) and that had a multitasking
- start up but this does not seem to be in 3.10.
-
- I have also been told that this years Acorn User show will have some thing
- special from Acorn, which will be for sale 12 months later. Acorn want the
- title of the 'fastest Personal workstation' back.
