- Well, you are in the right ballpark: Pins 28-30 do determine what slot the
- board thinks it's in. But, I *HOPE* you mean you cut the traces running to
- the pins and wired the (now unattached) associated traces to VCC. If you
- really wired VCC to the pins, you caused a direct short from VCC to ground.
- That could explain your odd symptoms. (Ouch!)
