- Does anyone have a list of those areas in which BSD and System V differ?
- I have found that, while getting certain BSD sources to work under System V,
- it is often merely a case of fiddling with "#include" lines and so on.
- However, in certain cases, I have found that certain library functions are
- not available. For example, I managed to get the "olwm" and "olgx" sources
- that are bundled with the X11R4 sources to compile on SCO Open Desktop 2.0
- but it involved manufacturing a "usleep" function and simplifying the
- signal handling to use "signal" because System V doesn't have things like
- "sigvec", etc.
-
- Instead of "hacking" each case afresh, it would be very useful to be able
- to know in advance what areas may be problematic. A list of known differences,
- if it exists, would be extremely useful.
-
- Another thing that would be very useful would be a "BSD compatibility library"
- of sorts for System V.
