- I'll second Mohamed's note; I've used ntp over dialup slip to keep my
- home machine's clock sane (I dial up, start slip, then start named and
- xntpd).

- No special parameter changes are needed (tick, tickadj, et al just
- define how the system clock responds to adjtime()).

- Performance is acceptable.. it doesn't take much of the line bandwidth
- to peer with two or three servers, and the clock errors shown in the
- ntpq billboard seem to be <10-20ms after things settle down.

- I suspect that things might get thrown off a bit if you were in the
- middle of a multi-megabyte one-way file transfer, but other than that,
- it should be fine.
