- We have a Cisco Terminal server running SLIP lines. I've found that
- etherslip.com will allow me to use the standard ethdrv.exe (even the
- old 2.03 kernel). We are using a modified SLIPDIAL.com to do the dialing.
- I say modified, because I had to change the parameter list from the
- slip8250.com to the etherslip.com. Since the ftp tcp/ip layer uses
- ifconfigs and ipconfigs (at least the 2.03 kernel does) in the config.sys.
- We needed a way to set the users IP address since it would be a rotary
- SLIP line. This was solved by using the WATTCP software, more specifically,
- the bootp code. In about an hour, I made a bootp client to change the local
- ip information without user intervention. (the wattcp software compiled
- first time using bc 2.0 after only having changed the include directory)
-
- Right now, the only thing we can't use is the ftp redirector software. It
- seems our old version of terminal server refuses to forward broadcast
- udp packets.

- I'll be making this whole package into a small installable disk, If anyone
- is interested let me know. I'll see if my boss will let me release it.
- (and the source, I'll try to get them to let me release that too)

- Thanks for all the help from the incredible number of people who have helped
- me.
