- What can I say? - "One man's meat is another man's poison" ??
-
- For the record, most of the machine's I deal with are "cut price,
- el-cheapo" clones, which mostly have Trident chipset based VGA cards.
- Recently it has become a virtual necessity to put such cards into 8-bit
- mode to get 3C503's to work in the same machine, regardless of shared
- memory base address settings (except I haven't tried "disabled").
- Limited experience with WD/SMC cards suggests that often this is
- unnecessary in the same machine.
-
- Oh to get my hands on an Orchid Fahrenheit!!! 8-)
