- I had a couple of helpful email messages on this, thanks fellas!
-
- Basically, they confirm that the WD8003E driver works ok, and the one
- supplied on the disk should be avoided.
-
- The EtherPlus card is ok 'cause it works with minix which has a driver
- for a wd8003. I also tried what I *think* is a 3C501 (no box/docs), it
- also replies with the correct MAC address when 3C501.com is loaded.
-
- I am trying to hook up two machines with a length of thinwire. One is a
- laptop with a D-Link adapter, and the other is an IBM clone with the WD/
- 3Com card. I am using the KA9Q NOS on both machines, everything fires
- up ok, but I cannot ping or ftp or anything between the two machines.
-
- I have read the Fine Manual, several times, but must have missed something.
- Can anyone help. My apologies if I am posting to the wrong list.
-
- TIA
- james.
