- One thing that's clearly politically correct lately is ascribing
- political motives to every action taken by Novell.

- It certainly isn't just Novell - after all, Microsoft wound up writing
- NDIS drivers for the NE-series cards, just as Novell wound up writing
- the ODI drivers for the 3Com Ethernet cards. There is one driver
- standard for the Mac. There are four standards for DOS and three for
- OS/2. The latter didn't come about through customer demands, and any
- shakeout will be based on the sponsoring organizations and the
- products they're trying to bolster, instead of the relative utility of
- the *drivers*.
