- Hi
-
- Supose I want to install a TCP/IP package in a mainframe
- (3090 w/ MVS, VTAM, CICS, TSO) - don't know exact model, but I can get
- it if it's relevant.
- I expect to have 3500+ SNA native 3270 sessions, and
- between 1000 and 2000 tn3270 (telnet) sessions which otherwise would be
- native SNA 3270.
-
- 1-Will I loose much performance by installing TCP/IP at all - even
- with no sessions (due to daemons, etc.) ?
- 2-What is the relative load on the host of a tn3270 session compared
- with a native 3270 session?
- 3-And what is the relative performance from the user standpoint?
- 4-Will I need to upgrade the mainframe with CPU or RAM?
- 5-If I use IBM's own TCP/IP will I get the same kind of support from
- them?
-
- -Thanks in advance,
- -Any help would be GREATLY appreciated,
