- Given CAP (actually, I'm only concerned with aufsd) in the standard
- configuration, I'm looking for tools that allow Mac users to more easily
- manipulate Unix files. In particular, whether or not NONXLATE is set for
- the CAP server, an application that writes out TEXT files (e.g. Word or
- TeachText or your favorite editor) is going to write text files in Mac
- format, with its own favorite creator (mswd, ttxt, or whatever), CRs
- delimiting lines and so on. I'd like tools that made it easier for Mac
- users to edit files totally within their Mac environment that are going to
- be read by other Unix applications.
-
- I rather like the standard aufsd behavior of not converting arbitrary
- TEXT files on read or write; this allows easy transfer of Unix binary
- files.
-
- One thought I had is a Mac application that is an analog of m2u -- that
- takes TEXT files with arbitrary creators, converts CR to LF, maybe does
- some other translations, and sets the creator to "unix". Anyone have such
- a (simple) beast?
-
- Alternatively, any other suggestions for tools that will allow a naive
- user to stay in the Mac environment but manipulate Unix text files on
- a CAP server?
