- Greetings all,
-
- Once upon a time, everyone who wanted to use AppleTalk Remote Access here had a
- modem on their Mac and everything worked fine. Then, the university decided to
- install a digital phone system (Ericsson MD110 Intelligent Network) and told
- everyone with modems to trade them in on TAU (Terminal Adapter Unit) 2620
- devices and everything will work fine.
-
- Well, I have no idea as to how to get these things to work with AppleTalk
- Remote Access. The TAU 2620's are connected to a 9600bps modem bank that was
- installed with the switch. Sometimes they work ok for dialing out, sometimes
- not, and there doesn't seem to be a way to find out what is going on (ie. you
- can't listen in for carrier and so on). The ones that people need to dial into
- from outside the university have been assigned DID numbers that supposedly
- allow this activity, but I can't get a connection no matter what ARA script I
- use.
-
- Does anyone out there have any experience with this. PLEASE don't tell me to
- have analog lines put in, the administration has pretty much declared that is
- not an option. Thanks for any help!
