- Does there exist an SCSI adapter for IBM compatibles which doesn't do
- sector aliasing? I've got one now that does aliasing, but I'd like to
- get one that doesn't alias so I could use a utility like SpinRite to
- periodically reformat my drive (regular maintenence, you know).
-
- I know such adapters do exist, because I have access to a computer that
- has one about which SpinRite doesn't complain. It's BIOS doesn't announce
- itself on boot, and it's not my computer, so I haven't felt comfortable
- ripping it open to see what's printed on the board. I'm particularly
- interested in the much heralded Adaptec 1542, but I'm interested in others
- as well.
-
- Send your replies to me by e-mail, and if I get more than, say, two replies
- I'll summarize and post. Thanks in advance.
