- Recently I contacted a drive repair company to repair a hard drive that had died. They told me that they could try an operation that they refered to
- as "maintenance track writing." Can someone explain what "maintenance track
- writing is? I have seen maintenance track writers advertised in magazines. Can
- this operation be done by a utility from a DOS based machine, or does it
- require special hardware? Any explanations or pointers to utilities would be
- appreciated.
