- The most familiar distributed database system I know of are
- the products of Teradata (now owned by NCR). Teradata machines consist
- of a number of Intel processors linked in a proprietary "Dynamic Y-Net"
- scheme. The best literature on the Teradata is in last months CACM.
-
- Note: the Teradata machine is specifically a Relational-Database
- machine, using SQL.
-
- The above information is not much, but the number of articles I
- have on the machine are not present. Companies using Teradata's include
- Citicorp and AT&T.
-
- One aquaintance who may be of more useful information is
- Aurea Andino, former manager of the Teradata Project at Citicorp. She
- can be reached via internet at
- 73700.1636@compuserve.com.
-
- Unfortunaetly I am not familiar with other architectures, so any infor mation will be welcome.

- Good Luck
