- Hello all.
-
- I was able to scrounge up a DECserver-100 for use with a VAXstation
- running VMS V5.5-1, but I can't seem to get the DECserver to be noticed
- by the VAXstation...
-
- The DECserver has an ethernet address of 08-00-2b-05-55-74, but
- that's about all I know about the DECserver. I have been able to to the
- LAT configuration so that the DECserver-100 will load its operating system
- from the VAXstation, and I can use the VT220 (console port on the server)
- to connect to the VAXstation, but I can't go the other way. I believe I
- heard something about the LATCP being different past V5.4-2, but I don't
- know what is different. I used to be able to do it under VMS V5.3-1,
- but my old LTLOAD file does not seem to be useful anymore. I tried to
- figure out what was going on from the LATCP manual, but I can't make
- heads or tails of the CREATE and SET, PORT and SERVICE, etc.
-
- I do a couple LATCP commands which used to work, but when I
- SET HOST /DTE to an LTAnnn: port which has a modem connected to the
- respective port on the server, nothing happens other than a 'port receive
- error', which is the same thing that happens when the server is unplugged.
-
- Obviously, I am doing something wrong and was wondering if someone
- could send me a sample LAT$STARTUP command file with commands for setting
- up the server itself and local ports to access the ports on the server for
- a modem and a printer? I can figure the rest out, I think, from the examples.
-
- BTW, I am using DECserver-100 V2.0.
-
- Thanks,
