  21. I suspect we did get such a package.  In our shop, another person 
  22. handles the business end with DEC, and I do the technical side.
  23. Most of the mail from DEC on these offers goes to him, not to me.
  24. A neon-orange sticker saying "FREE VMS MOTIF OFFER" would not seem
  25. any different than any other piece of advertising if you were not
  26. looking for it.

  29. To relate our own particular war story...

  31. I handed the forms to our DEC sales person in November of 1991.
  32. At some time during the long cold winter, DEC managed to lose the
  33. paper work.  So we FAXed them another copy.  While we were all
  34. waiting, the offer expired.  Our local office did make good on the
  35. offer and we got the PAKs, but no Media and Documentation.  More
  36. calls were made to DEC.  Towards the end of May, the Kit finally
  37. arrived.  As of the 30th of July, I still do not have access to
  38. the DSNlink DECW-MOTIF database.

  40. Just bad luck you may say, but at least one other site in Denver had
  41. the same problem.
