- 1) You may want to take a careful look at the communications line
- with either a terminal or a PC (or an analyzer) check what is
- comming down the link. When I tried PacerPrint at a client's
- installation the other year, we had quite a few problems,
- which I was able to trace to the "feature" that PacerPrint was
- downloading the standard Apple Macintosh LASERPREP file, which
- contains, among other things, a HARD RESET to the printer,
- which, among other things, completely reset the communications
- parameters. If some variation of this is your problem, it is
- easily cured by "fixing" the appropriate file.

- 2) Graymatter (in Washington state, I forget the exact city) has
- a product known as ScriptServer, which I have used at several
- sites for non-DEC PostScript printer management. It has given
- good performance at these sites.
