- We're looking at replacing our 4 RA82s and 6 RA81s with some SCSI disks.
- Currently, we have a VAX 6310 and VAX 8350, plus an HSC50 with the
- above disks and a TA78/TU78 tape system. We're considering getting rid
- of the 8350, so a solution that connects the disks to just the 6310
- should not be ruled out.

- We'd also like the disk setup to work without any special software
- changes to VMS, so that installs work without having to wait for the
- hardware vendor to catch up (we don't install every release as soon
- as it comes, but I don't like waiting for a vendor to catch up to DEC).
- We would like a solution that doesn't require that we buy the disks
- from the controller vendor.
