- Leon,
-
- There several terminal servers on the market that support TCP/IP. Many of
- these same companies make models that are specifically print servers as
- they have parallel interfaces. Do not know if you need parallel or serial
- interfaces for your printers, or even how many you have.
-
- I did a recent study of terminal servers and most on the market support
- both TCP/IP and LAT. For local VAXes I would not rule out the use of LAT,
- you would need bridging software on your CISCO's as LAT is not a routable
- protocol. You do not appear to want to deal with that on the CISCO, you know
- your requirements.
-
- You might take a look at:
-
- DECserver 300 - only DECserver that supports TCP/IP, unless something's
- changed since last year.
-
- Xyplex
-
- Xylogics
-
- Cisco
-
- Lantronics
-
- Databilty
-
- and so on.......
-
- The above are in NO WAY recommendations or ratings, just a list of some
- possibilities. Your message leaves out many specifics needed to narrow
- things down.
