- HEY! I can relate to that, I did the same thing. We upgraded out 3100-76
- to a 4000-60 and kept 2 old RZ23's, a RZ56 and a RZ57 and bought a new RZ58.
- We have seen the same problems you saw, drives logging errors, fatal drive
- errors, etc. Even on the new RZ58. I talked to DEC about this and the
- 'extremely knowledgeable' DEC hardware guy said there were no revision problems
- for these drives on the 4000-60. From the errors I have been logging, it
- looks like I have lost the SCSI controller on the 4000. So maybe fixing that
- will solve my problem - but I doubt it. Especially since you have seen the
- same problem. My guess is that indeed there is some kind of revision problem
- with the RZ23's and maybe even other older RZ problems. My 'more extremely
- knowledgeable' DEC field service guy will be out today and I will see what
- he has to say on the subject.
