  13.   HEY! I can relate to that, I did the same thing. We upgraded out 3100-76
  14. to a 4000-60 and kept 2 old RZ23's, a RZ56 and a RZ57 and bought a new RZ58.
  15. We have seen the same problems you saw, drives logging errors, fatal drive
  16. errors, etc. Even on the new RZ58. I talked to DEC about this and the
  17. 'extremely knowledgeable' DEC hardware guy said there were no revision problems
  18. for these drives on the 4000-60. From the errors I have been logging, it
  19. looks like I have lost the SCSI controller on the 4000. So maybe fixing that
  20. will solve my problem - but I doubt it. Especially since you have seen the
  21. same problem. My guess is that indeed there is some kind of revision problem
  22. with the RZ23's and maybe even other older RZ problems. My 'more extremely
  23. knowledgeable' DEC field service guy will be out today and I will see what
  24. he has to say on the subject.
