- Okay, folks, I've got a problem and the solution is eluding me. Basically,
- I'm writing a program that accesses the Database Manager (from Extended
- Services) under OS/2 2.0. However, I've been receiving the SQL Error
- 1024. Looking at the _Extended Services for OS/2 Messages and Error Recovery
- Guide_, I see that SQL1024N means "No START USING DATABASE command was
- issued." and it advises me to "issue a START USING DATABASE and resubmit
- the command or statement."
-
- However, the command to START USING DATABASE has already been issued
- successfully. Any ideas as to why this error occurs?
-
- Now, here's the clincher: The error never shows up on my machine (PS/2
- 80-111 w/ 16 MB and an 8514 Card) but always shows up on all of my
- co-worker's machines (ranging from a PS/2 80-111 w/ 8MB and VGA to
- various clones w/ 8MB and VGA). I don't see how this could be a VGA
- problem, but could it be a problem with memory? Is there a <shudder>
- bug in the Extended Services? This error has only started occuring
- since switching from Extended Edition to Extended Services. I would
- hate to switch back to 1.3, but if I have to... :^(
-
- Any and all help would be vastly appreciated, since this is holding up
- several people. Please respond by e-mail, as our news feed tends to
- stay ~6 days behind, and by next week, I'll be sitting in a padded cell
- sucking my big toe and muttering "IBM, UBM, we all BM for IBM".
-
- Thanks much!
