- I have just gotten some info about Watcom Fortran and was interested in
- hearing from someone who actually has it.
-
- The biggest concern is documentation. In the info I have it list:
-
- Windows Programming Guide
- Dos " "
- Video User's Guide
- Linker User's Guide
- Language Reference
- Graphics Library Reference
- Online Help
-
- Nowhere does it mention OS/2 Programming Guide. It does talk about OS/2
- programming, i.e. it can be used for that, but does not indicate what kind
- of information is provided.
-
- I'm mainly getting it for the purpose of faster 32-bit codes. I like the
- idea of being able to run some simple Euler codes and grid generation at
- home for debugging and such.(CFD) But, I would also like to play around with
- the OS/2 programming for PM or WPS.(my terminology for OS/2 is all screwed up
- right now)
-
- Does anyone have a small sample of code that they've done where they open
- up a window when you click on the icon, and in the window are some menu options
- like 'open', 'print', etc. that they could email me. I don't care about
- any full length code, just an example of how it would be done if I decide
- to buy Watcom Fortran.(or sample code that comes with the compiler would be
- o.k. if it is not infringing on copyrights or anything, it would help sell one
- of their compilers in all likely hood.)
-
- Also, what kind of speed up could I expect going from MS's fortran to Watcom's?
-
-
- Thanks for any insight.
