  26. Well, something to keep in mind for those of you trying to run packet drivers
  27. on Token Ring, you might want to try setting up an NDIS layer, and then running
  28. the DIS_PKT.DOS driver, which is a PD packet driver <-> NDIS shim.

  30. Now under OS/2, this will probably not work, as for some *STRANGE* reason,
  31. an OS/2 NDIS stack is not accessible from DOS VDMs.  If running OS/2 Netware
  32. Requestor, if ODI services are provided to DOS VDMs, one could more than
  33. likely use the ODIPKT.xxx driver to provide the packet driver interface. 
  34. (Another shim)  I suspect that the situation is the same for ODI services
  35. in DOS VDMs as with NDIS, but if it is possible, I'd love to hear about it.

  37. And I wish IBM would provide a solution - I've been told that the Virtual 802.2
  38. drivers (for 802.2 access from DOS VDMs) will solve this problem, but I 
  39. can't see how.  Anyone caring to take a shot at explaining to me how this will
  40. solve the lack of packet driver access in a DOS VDM with OS/2 LAN Software 
  41. running?
