  11. I am a new user to OS/2. I have 1.5 weeks experience with it thus far. It is
  12. installed on a 386-25 generic clone type machine with 8 megs of ram.  I
  13. would like to be able to use the Clarkson University TCP/IP Package under
  14. OS/2.  To date I have been able to telnet and ftp using CUTCP under OS/2
  15. using an Everex Speedlink/PC16 Ethernet card. But there are two ever-present
  16. problems.  The first is that I must run the packet driver which comes with
  17. the Speedlink TWICE in order to initialize the driver.  On the first run of
  18. FTPSLINK.COM I get the message that the packet driver loaded along with
  19. "Driver Initialization is failed". On the second try everything works fine.

  21. The second problem that I experience has to do with running
  22. other sessions or programs while running telnet in a dos window or full
  23. screen session. If I open an OS/2 session or run an OS/2 application all
  24. is fine. If I open a DOS window or full screen session there is a fifty fifty
  25. chance that upon returning to the telnet session I will find that it has
  26. frozen. I have read the FAQ and monitored the OS/2 news groups looking for
  27. clues. I think I have changed all the DOS setting that need to be changed,
  28. but that does not mean they are correct. If you are currently using CUTCP
  29. or have some idea as to what my problem may be I would appreciate hearing
  30. from you.

  32. I would also like to hear from anyone that is using SUN PC-NFS under OS/2.
  33. I understand that under DOS/Windows the RAL PKTMUX packet driver
  34. multiplexing interface enables one to use SUN PC-NFS and the Clarkson
  35. utilities simultaneously.

  37. I'd really like to hear from anybody who has used PC-NFS of PKTMUX under
  38. OS/2 before I try to install either of these applications. Any clues to
  39. proper instillation under OS/2 (dos session or other) as well as potential
  40. problems would be highly appreciated and a big time saver.
