- Things not to do with OS/2:
-
- 1: DON'T run a game found on Hobbes called Trashman, and change it's video
- mode to 32x32 in its menu if you don't have XGA.
-
- I was curious what the mode looked like, here's what it did. Made the game
- very big. Bigger, in fact than my screen. I closed it w/ Ctrl-Esc, deleted
- it, unzipped the original files and tried to run it again. Still big! How?
- There's no other files associated with the game, even hidden. What did it
- change? I then deleted it again, and tried to shut down. Trap 0006. Reset,
- chkdsk finds file system error, and allocation errors in os2.ini. Then a
- new error screen that says "Extents Not Found". I tried various things for
- a few hours, and eventually had to delete and rebuild os2.ini and os2sys.ini.
- Thankfully, I used WKSBackup about a week ago, so I only lost a weeks worth
- of customization, rather than 4 months (Thanks to the WPSBackup author. The
- check's in the mail!). My system has been solid as a rock for 4 months, this
- was my first big crash. Any ideas on what exactly happened? I thought I had
- found the 1st OS/2 virus!
