- I have OS/2 and DOS installed on a Segate 1102A (89 Mb) disk and I am
- using dual boot. This configuration has worked well except I'm cramped
- for disk space. So, I've just purchased a Segate 1239A hard drive (211 Mb)
- and I am trying to add it to the system. At this point I have two questions:
-
- 1) I've added this disk to the BIOS (AMI 5/90) using 1272 cylinders
- and it reports 211 Mb. When I run FDISK it only reports 161 Mb for
- the drive. It seems that the BIOS or OS/2 is only allowing 1024
- cyl. So, I changed the BIOS setup per Segate's extensive :-)
- documentation to have less than 1024 cyl. The BIOS and FDISK now
- report 201 Mb. My question is, where is the cyl. limit being applied
- and can I get my 10 Mb back?
-
- 2) I would like to keep C: as it is (FAT with dual boot) and put
- OS/2 on D: (HPFS). This way I can boot DOS using dual boot
- or from a floppy and access all the files on C:. The big question
- how do I acomplish this? I've tried to reinstall OS/2 on D: and
- FDISK will only allow me to create or delete a partition.
-
- Thanks for your help
