- Though things are working pretty well right now, I suspect I may have a little
- corruption in my OS2.INI file. For example, I used the REXX program from
- Hobbes to look inside my INI files, and found descriptions for printer drivers
- that I had installed once, but later deleted. Also, today I found that when
- I sorted the desktop icons by type, the "OS/2 system" icon didn't respond to
- either mouse button at all, though it worked when sorted by name, and after
- a shutdown it now seems to work either way.
-
- ANyway, I'd like to clean up my INI files, to prevent any future problems.
- I know I can do this using the default INI files, but what exactly gets lost
- if I do this? How much work would it be to get back to where I am now (I have
- a lot of DOS program/Windows program icons defined; I've changed the settings
- for many of the OS/2 applets; I've defined new folders, printer drivers etc.
- How much of this would I lose in changing my INI files?)
-
- Alternatively, is there a way of "cleaning up" my existing INI files without
- replacing them, e.g. somehow deleting pointers to objects which don't
- actually exist?
-
- Thanks
