- I upgraded to the new kernel I downloaded from hobbes last night with mixed
- results. It appeared when I opened up the Disk Drive object that the folder
- object title for the OS2 directory on the disk has been renamed to the
- folder object title for the subdirectory that the new kernel files had been
- placed.
-
- I followed the instructions enclosed with the OS2KRNL.ZOO exactly.
- I also copied the new HPFS.IFS over the old after installing the new
- kernel but before realising the rename problem.
-
- My naming scheme in detail is:
-
- Real Name Object Title
-
- E:\OS2 (location of os/2 system) Temp Unzoo
- F:\FTPGOODIES\TEMP_UNZ (location of kernel fix) Temp Unzoo
-
- I tried to rename the folder name for the OS2 directory, but get the
- Workplace Shell error message:
-
- E:\OS2 is currently in use by another program.
-
- I closed everthing except the desktop and repeated to no avail. I also
- don't get the folder for the E:\OS2 directory to properly show there
- are subfolders (usually done with a + sign) when opening the Drive E
- object in tree view.
-
- I get the above error message often when copying file objects. Most of the
- time they copy, but it is unsettling to hear some obscure file is in use
- when it is not.
-
- One other instance of denied access under WPS: I unzooed the new HP laserjet
- driver for WIN-OS2, but could not delete or move the file HPPCL.DRV in the
- Temp_Unz directory using the WPS folder. I could with the command
- line,though.
-
- Any help will be appreciated.
