- I finally had time to install my copy of OS/2, and I'm having some problems.
- During installation, I got several error messages ending with "The system is
- stopped. Record the location number of the error and contact your service
- representative." I just kept trying, and it finally installed. Now, when
- I boot the system, it kicks into PM. Everything is fine, except for when
- I try to invoke a full-screen DOS or OS/2 session. The video mode, for
- want of a better word, goes bonkers. I'm not sure how to describe what
- happens, but the monitor looks like a 25 year old TV that's lost horizontal
- and vertical controls and the picture tube is half gone. There is no
- way to recover except for rebooting. Does anyone have an idea what
- may be wrong? The system setup is:
-
- BEC 386/33
- 8 megs RAM
- AMI BIOS (9/15/89)
- ET 4000 SVGA card with 1 meg
- 105 meg Conner IDE drive
- 340 meg Maxtor ESDI drive
-
- OS/2 and DOS 5.0/Windows 3.1 both reside on the primary (C:) partition.
- Any help is appreciated.
