- This seems to be related to seamless Windows operation. When I first
- installed OS/2, it'd happen occasionally - but only Windows apps.
- When I installed a hi-res display driver (and couldn't use seamless
- Windows anymore) the problem disappeared. With the VGA driver, I
- never had a full-screen Windows app remain grayed.

- I've noticed this, too. It appears to be linked (somehow) to
- confirmation. If you leave "confirm on folder delete" on, and answer
- the "are you sure" question each time, the problem doesn't happen.
-
- As it is, I rarely use the WPS for deleting stuff. I much prefer to
- drop to an OS/2 window and type "rm -r <dirname>". It works a bit
- faster, too. The WPS windows update themselves in a few seconds, so
- you don't lose anything by doing it this way.

-
- The shutdown procedure nicely asks all processes to stop themselves,
- and it waits for them to respond before forcing the system down.
- (This is when DOS and OS/2 sessions ask "are you sure" and PM apps may
- (or may not) ask you to save your work). If an app refuses to
- respond, the shutdown process may wait until the app responds or is
- terminated. Once this happens, shutdown proceeds.
