- Well, while d/ling, a friend who uses an USRobotics 14.4 HST gets
- barely more than 1/2 the transfer rate (ie 900-1000cps vs 1700cps) when
- in Windows 3.1 as opposed to not in Windows. There is no question that
- OS/2 multitasks better. I am about to go back to Windows due to the way
- OS/2 runs things. For instance, if I d/l something from a bbs & it doesn't
- immediately work, I must wonder: does it work at all? Should I simply sit
- here for 3.2 hours tweaking OS/2 to try to get it to run? This has happened
- to me too often. It seems that IBM didn't think a few things out very well.
- Why does this product teach you to use a mouse & at the same time make you
- change the DPMI settings? It is a worthy product but a few things need to change
- before it even has a shot at competing w/Windows...It saddens me to say this for
- Windows is not what it should be, but it is the truth...
