- It looks like adding a RAM disk to a DOS session may not be a simple
- proposition. As Mike Ressler suggested it is possible to create RAM disks for
- the entire OS/2 session by including the appropriate command in the OS/2
- config.sys file. Howver, with ONLY :-) 8 Mb of RAM I'd rather not lose the 1.5
- Mb of RAM I would need for a RAM disk. Timothy F. Sipples's suggestion of
- starting a specific DOS session looks as if it would solve the problem but
- seems like it might be more trouble than it's worth.
-
- To explain the problem a little more... Systat and Sygraph use temporary files
- during computations and normally write these files to disk, hence a RAM disk
- can speed up these temporary files. It is obvious that this is a problem of
- this particular DOS application and would not be a problem in an OS/2 app.
- Thanx to those who replied. Any other suggestions?
