- I've seen several posts today about people having trouble installing on a
- 486/33 machine. I went through this same thing helping a friend install it on
- his machine. After several tries, we finally got it installed. The key thing he
- found from talking to IBM for several hours is that you must make sure your
- system bus is running at 8 Mhz during the install. He was told that most 486
- machines run the bus faster than that and that often causes OS/2 to fail during
- the install. The actually were surprised that we even got it to completely
- install once as they said it shouldn't be able to do that. Once his install was
- complete at the slower bus speed, he was able crank up the speed of his bus
- again. So check those BIOS settings...
