- I've configured my OS/2 so that I can do windowing but don't have to
- put up with icons (I really don't like icons.). So, I have the following in
- my Config.Sys:
-
- PROTSHELL=D:\OS2\PMSHELL.EXE
- SET USER_INI=D:\OS2\OS2.INI
- SET SYSTEM_INI=D:\OS2\OS2SYS.INI
- SET OS2_SHELL=D:\OS2\CMD.EXE
- SET AUTOSTART=PROGRAMS,TASKLIST,FOLDERS
- SET RUNWORKPLACE=D:\OS2\CMD.EXE
- SET COMSPEC=D:\OS2\CMD.EXE
- LIBPATH=.;D:\OS2\DLL;D:\OS2\MDOS;D:\;D:
- SET PATH=D:\OS2;D:\OS2\BIN;D:\OS2\SYSTE
- ^^^^^^^^^^-More here but way too wide
- to bore people with
-
- As you can see I load CMD.Exe for my Workplace Shell and have the
- Presentation Manager for my PROTSHELL. It all works fine except for the fact
- that the first thing that pops up in my Workplace Shell on bootup is a SYS1034
- message, which means the system can't find the command processor in the path
- specified. Since it only happens when the PROTSHELL & RUNWORKPLACE do not
- point to the same shell, I assume that's the problem. Why does this happen?
- It's kinda strange to get this message and then still have the system run
- the way I want it, so I guess it's more an annoyance than anything else, but it
- does make me curious.
