- PC comms is a text-based medium. Telix users feel "at-home" using TE/2. Also,
- TE/2 has Zmodem - which the PMTerm does not - and that means that down/uploads
- are quite a bit faster no matter what modem you are using. TE/2 has it's
- faults, but I have registered it anyway. I don't do remote EMACS so I have no
- problems with the VT100 emulation or any other emulation TE/2 supports.
-
- I tried all the shareware comms programs for OS/2 that I could obtain, then
- registered the best one. The only other one that was worth considering - THAT
- I HAVE TRIED - was PMComm. (I'm not a kermit fan, BTW).
-
- I also registered Telix 3.15. It may be a DOS comms program, but it is still
- damned good - even in a VDM. I use it mainly to "debug" problems with
- connecting to new modems or modems configured incorrectly at the other end. I
- use TE/2 once I get a connection stabilised. There is a DigiTech "Lynx"
- V32bis/V42bis modem that is in beta testing and i have a pretty hard time
- geting a good connect with it.
