- I have a SONY CD that is working fine. The process is not supported by IBM.
-
- 1) Install the CD support on the Selective Install screen.
- 2) I have a ADAPTEC SCSI card that is supported by OS2.
- Look for the BASEDEV=AHA154X.ADD for the 1542 card in your CONFIG.SYS,
- if it is there (or one like it) you are OK here.
- 3) Make sure the following were added to your CONFIG.SYS by the install:
- IFS=D:\OS2\CDFS.IFS /Q
- DEVICE=D:\OS2\CDROM.SYS /Q /I /N:4
- DEVICE=D:\OS2\MDOS\VCDROM.SYS
- 4) Reboot and give it a try.
-
- The /I parm is the key. This tells the driver not to look at the device
- manufacturer info. Please get on the phone and abuse SONY, as they must add
- the support to ensure we will continue to have our CD access thru OS2.
-
- Good Luck!
