- What you did was not so unreasonable. Now that you are this far, and do
- not want to boot from your installation disketees, simply go in to your
- config.sys and remove the period from the LIBPATH statement as well as
- C:\; if it is there. Now reboot, delete the DLLs you need to from the
- root of C:. Edit the config.sys and replace the period and the C:\ that
- you removed earlier. Reboot. You are now in business.
-
- An easier way to do this is to boot from your installation diskettes.
- You really won't wipe out your hard drive if you follow these
- instructions. You will be prompted for Diskette #1 after the
- installation diskette is finished. Insert diskette #1 and hit enter.
- You will eventually get a blue screen with a prompt at the bottom saying
- hit enter to continue or Escape (or is it F3?) to exit. Do this - select
- the exit option and you will be dropped to an OS/2 full screen command
- prompt with A: as the default drive. HPFS is loaded so you have full
- access to your harddrive if it is HPFS. You can manipulate the files on
- your hard drive as you wish. When you are finished, remove the diskette
- and reboot your machine as you normally would from the hard drive.
-
- As long as you escape to the command prompt at the earliest opportunuty,
- the installation diskettes won't do any harm to the existing
- installation. You could also prepare a boot diskette for such
- sitruations, or use Bott Manager to set up a small bare bones OS/2 boot
- partition. (oops, that's 'Boot Manager' not 'Bott Manager'...sorry ;-) )
-
- Hope this helps!
