- IBM has source code rights to all Microsoft Windows products
- (including 3.1 and NT) that are written through September, 1993. IBM
- can license and incorporate Windows code in its OS/2 products in
- perpetuity (i.e. there's zero danger that any Windows code already in
- OS/2 will be _pulled_). (The reverse is also true.) In other words,
- IBM can incorporate Windows 3.1 and/or NT technology into its OS/2
- products after September, 1993 (for as long as it wants).
-
- In addition, both companies are allowed to reverse engineer the
- other's product after that date, in perpetuity.
