- i've finally decided to start using some of the neat features of WPS
- and have started associating various programs with data files but
- i get the following problems
-
- 1) i associate micro-emacs (my normal editor) with plain text files
- and the set up a LaTeX letter template as a plain text file and
- mark uemacs as default option. i then take copies of the template
- and all is fine. i then reboot the next day and all the associations
- to uemacs have disappeared!
-
- 2) similarily i configure a TeX directory template with options set
- so it won't show *aux, *log files etc to avoid clutter. this works
- fine if i do this explicitly to a directory but if i set it up in
- a template and take a copy these options are not copied.
-
- if its any help i'm using a FAT filesystem .... is this a symptom
- of no quite correct EA emulation under FAT and would this be fixed
- by HPFS (not really an option as i've only 5M and since any additional
- memory involves replacing 1M of 256k drams with 4M of 1M drams which
- will need to be ditched when/if i upgrade to a 486 m/board i think
- i'm stuck with FAT for a bit).
